Nate Robinson gets life saving operation

Former NBA guard Nate Robinson underwent a successful kidney transplant Friday morning at the University of Washington Medical Center in Seattle.

An ESPN chronicle of Robinson’s ordeal revealed that the three-time slam dunk champion (2006, 2009, and 2010) learned during his rookie year with the New York Knicks that his kidneys were it. In 2021 Robinson learned his kidneys were failing; he subsequently began dialysis treatment thrice per week (Monday, Wednesday, and Friday) at a Seattle clinic from 5:30 am to 9:30 am as toxins, waste products, and excess fluids were removed from his body.

The next year Robinson went public for the first time about his ordeal and in 2024 he let the world he needed a kidney transplant. Soon thereafter the University was flooded with offers of people who were willing to be potential donors. He also underwent an extensive battery of tests as the search for an ideal match soldered on.

Then on Friday Robinson captioned a post on Instagram with the following:

“I’m here to celebrate and thank the LORD for all he has done in my life, today is the day I get my new kidney, thank you to all the people that sent prayers and texted my phone giving me encouragement & love !!! Ur, a fool if you don’t believe in GOD and the miracles he performs !! Amen 🙏🏾

We hope Nate has a speedy and complete recovery.
